Easy and Healthy Oatmeal Bars Recipe

This was my very first attempt at coming up with a baking recipe entirely from scratch.  No ;inspired by' simply me in my kitchen with my knowledge of potentially good mixture of ingredients to make a edible batter.  They turned out great, if I do say so myself.  It's an simple recipe and a healthy recipe.  I'm all for any easy healthy recipe; but I'm especially all for my own recipe!

What you'll need:
2 Cups Old Fashion Oats
1 Cup Flour (I used Wheat)
1/4 Cup Brown Sugar (packed)
1/4 Cup Honey
1/4 Cup Vegetable Oil
1 Tsp Cinnamon
1 Tsp Baking Powder
1/2 Tsp Vanilla Extract
1 Egg
1/2 Cup Mix-Ins (I used a mix of mix ins- see below)

Super easy.  Preheat oven to 350*.  Mix all wet ingredients in one bowl (extract, oil, egg, honey).  Take the other ingredients (leave out the mix ins for now) and mix it all together in another bowl.  Pour the wet mixture into the dry one and blend.  This is when I added my mix-ins.

For my mix ins I used cranberries and bananas I'd dried in my Ronco dehydrator, and some nuts from my Healthy Surprise box- I chopped it all up and threw it in just before putting the batter in an 8X8 greased pan.  I baked them for about 15 minutes.

My kids loved them I loved them and Hubs-To-Be got to enjoy what was left when he got home.

Try this healthy recipe for breakfast or a snack- change it up to make it just right for you and your families tastes and needs.

I'd love to hear your ideas- let me know what you might use to mix in!
