My 3 year
old son found the Squishy T-Rex in the closet where I was hiding it. In Hubs-To-Be words he ‘got all giddy’ and
started asking if he could open it and play with it. Luckily, Jelly Bean was home, she’s 11 and
when I agreed to review the Squishy T-Rex from Smart Lab Toys I thought it would be perfect for them to do
together. This particular toy is
intended for ages 7 and up. Truthfully,
though, with a parent supervising/helping my three year old would have been
fine, there are small parts so keep that in mind though. Baby G was content playing with the
packaging! The two of them working
together to build the dinosaur was so sweet.
K was ecstatic; he loved dinosaurs and has already decided to have a
dino party for his 4th birthday (not until March). Jelly Bean was happy too, she loved the
squishy innards the best. Her favorite
part was the tongue. This toy comes with
easy instructions complete with photos; they did it together alone while I
snapped the photos. When it came to putting on the last and biggest piece I
helped make sure the pegs where all lined up.
The toy also comes with a book entitled The Mighty T-Rex. They enjoyed flipping through it first while
I opened the box that held the pieces.
This is one of the toys newer to Smart Lab; it became available in Fall
2012 and would be an AMAZING educational and fun gift idea. Another cool part? This toy isn’t glued or otherwise permanently
put together. It can be taken apart and put back together if you wanted!
Looking
through the site I saw a lot of great products. Call me a nerd but I can’t help
but love that all of them had some sort of educational idea behind them. As a mother I know I get all ‘giddy’ myself
when my kids are learning while playing, so finding this site was
exciting. The site also has a Free Zone. You know me;
I love free so I had to check it out.
The free zone boasts ‘activities of the week’ free downloads, trivia
games and coloring pages. ALL FREE. Seriously, go look!
