Grandma's Beer Bread

My Grandma gave me this recipe a few years ago.  It's so easy and so yummy!  Perfect for a gathering to impress or a relaxing night at home.  Regardless, it's the perfect bread to eat warm or cold!

3 ½ Cups Flour
3 Tbs Sugar
1Tb Baking Powder
1 ½ tsps Salt
12 ounces Beer
1 egg, beaten

Preheat Oven to 375.

Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a large bowl.  Add beer and stir until just combined.  Don’t over mix this dough!  Knead quickly on a floured surface and form ball.  Put bread on a baking sheet and cut an X in the top- in these photos I got overzealous with a brand new very sharp knife but it only affected the look not the taste!  Brush the dough with the egg.  Bake approximately 45 min, until golden brown.  Transfer to wire rack to cool.

We may or may not have eaten the entire loaf with butter this day....
