These are so wonderful! Can you imagine the white ones setting the aumbiance for a garden ceremony or a sophicticated wedding reception? I can invision the colorful ones (perhaps in the wedding colors) hanging at a cocktail hour shining the gentle and gorgeous light into the evenings festivities!
The possibilties are endless! You could use these on your patio or in your children's room or hallway(so much nicer than an average nightlight).
When you first see a hanging star lantern in the packaging, you have to wonder how it can go from an unassuming flat triangle of paper into the three dimensional masterpiece you see in photos. That is actually part of the allure of these star-shaped lamps-- they go from flat to fab in just a few minutes. Assembly is easy and quick.
The star itself features anywhere from five to nine points, and is lightweight, though not flimsy. You need to be a little careful when you open it the first time, as there may be some slight stickiness from the glue used to assemble the star. Some star lamps are basic, solid colored paper with shaped cut outs that allow the light to escape. They are nice, and can be great for events or Holiday parties.
But the real stars of the show are the star lamps with cutouts backed with tissue paper. It's may be hard to imagine, but once you see them in person, you get the idea. The star lamps with tissue paper really glow, almost like stained glass. Once you have the star open and assembled, you can hang it directly from the electric lantern cord. They look great individually, but hung in a cluster they really create a mood.
You can find these cool paper star lanterns at divine-planet.com. They cost as little as $5.75 for the lantern alone. Adding an electric cord costs another $6. Shipping is very affordable, but if you spend more than $50 (Christmas presents, anyone?), shipping by USPS Priority Mail is free. They also have a no-questions asked return policy, althought it's doubtful you'd need it! Visit the site directly or follow them on FaceBook.
These are so pretty and inexpensive, I think they would be cute decorations for Christmas as well!
